DIGITALINSIGHT CIS (DI.CIS)
is a Berlin-based advisory platform offering a distinctive blend of strategic consulting, geopolitical analysis, expert writing, intercultural communication, and travel-related insight.
Founded by international advisor and author Svetlana Alexeeva, DI.CIS was originally established to examine how governments worldwide respond to the early stages of digital transformation – mapping national strategies and identifying global best practices. A special focus on the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) – a regional association that includes countries of the broader post-Soviet space, such as Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan – reflects Svetlana’s Russian origin and close family ties to Ukraine.
Over time, DI.CIS expanded its scope. What began as an exploration of digital approaches evolved into a broader, cross-disciplinary, and cross-border perspective – highlighting developments not only across the post-Soviet region, but also in Germany and Europe at large.
Today, DI.CIS offers a wide range of services, including country-specific advice, market analysis, strategic guidance, networking facilitation, communication support, language services, as well as professional writing and editorial expertise.
Meet the Owner
Svetlana Alexeeva is the owner and driving force behind DIGITAL INSIGHT CIS – a Berlin-based advisory platform that combines strategic consulting with geopolitical analysis, expert writing, editorial precision, intercultural insight, and linguistic support in an international context.
With a multidisciplinary background in international economics and linguistics, she brings a distinctive lens to complex global developments. Her advisory and analytical work is grounded in years of experience across Germany, Eastern Europe, and the broader post-Soviet region – as well as by a deep interest in the historical and human forces, and structural dynamics behind national and international developments.
Svetlana is a Pioneer Expert at Media Pioneer Publishing, where she writes on geopolitics and geoeconomics – with a special focus on Eastern Europe – innovation, and technology. She is also a guest contributor at N-TV, Germany’s leading news television channel and online portal. Since 2015, she has been an editor at BUSINESS & DIPLOMACY, covering digital transformation, international cooperation, culture, and travel.
She holds Master’s degrees in Philology and Linguistics (Northern Arctic Federal University, Russia) and International Economics (University of Potsdam, Germany), and was awarded a fellowship by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom. Her early professional years at IfG.CC – The Potsdam eGovernment Competence Center, one of Germany’s pioneering institutes in the field, laid the groundwork for her interest in e-Government and public sector innovation.
Born in Russia, Svetlana’s perspective was shaped early on – often through close family connections – by cross-cultural experiences in Ukraine, Belarus, and Central Asia. She speaks Russian (native), German (near-native), English (fluent), and Spanish (advanced basic). Her passion for travel, curiosity about other cultures, and strong commitment to intercultural understanding shape both the values and the services offered by DIGITAL INSIGHT CIS.
